Centek Group

Centek was founded in 2001 and is now one of the leading manufacturers of casing centralizers used in oil and gas operations to position pipes down the drilled hole prior to cementation.

Centek operates globally, throughout Europe, the Americas, Asia-Pacific and the Middle-East, working with major oil companies such as Shell, BP, ExxonMobil, Maersk, and all national oil companies.  The company has a strong and close association with Halliburton, one of the largest oil field service companies, with whom Centek has penetrated new markets worldwide.

In 2008 Centek won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for outstanding achievement in international trade and followed this by winning the award again in 2009 and then once more in 2014 for continuous product innovation and development.

Centek carries out all manufacturing and quality control in-house. The company employs 155 people in Newton Abbot, Devon, exporting to over 50 countries with patents held in all developed oilfield countries. Centek Group opened a US manufacturing subsidiary in June 2012 based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA. The 88,000 square feet factory is fully self-sufficient in all aspects of centralizer manufacture with its own heat treatment and laser cutting plants. Centek now has the largest centralizer manufacturing capacity in the world following the expansion of its Newton Abbot factory in 2014.

Centek emphasises product quality and customer support, and 75 per cent of its sales are repeat orders from existing customers. Centek has achieved ISO 9001-2000 and API SPEC 10 D certification, both essential competencies in the oil industry.

Centek is at the forefront of centralizer design and manufacture. The revolutionary Centek S2 centralizer is a single piece unit with an integral bow to end-band design; and manufactured from a single piece of heat-treated steel, it maximises standoff. With zero start and running forces drag is reduced while still allowing pipe rotation if reaming is necessary, or once the string has landed to aid cementation.

The Centek UROS-CT Centralizer

The Centek UROS-CT centralizer. Designed to challenge the traditional and extremely costly centralizer sub market, the UROS-CT provides maximum stand-off in tight annulus applications.

The Centek S2 Centralizer

The S2 gives unmatched flexibility and is designed to compress virtually to pipe OD with no permanent set occurring, and then spring back to its design diameter. This is a significant improvement on older centralizer designs, which are suitable for use in vertical wells, but are susceptible to mechanical failure in the deviated, horizontal or ERD wells for which the S2 was specifically produced.

The Centek UROS Centralizer

Centek’s UROS centralizer was launched in 2010 for under-reamed wells where the high points of the bows are offset alternately which significantly reduces drag without reducing strength or centralizing capability.

The Centek UROS-CT Centralizer

The UROS-CT was introduced in 2013 for use with tight tolerance casings in deep-water wells where the centralizer has to compress fully to travel between tight casing strings and yet expand to the designed size once in the open hole.

Innovation and Quality

Centek Group has a successful track record unrivalled within the Industry. Consistent performance coupled with problem free running operations worldwide, lead to consistently good primary and zonal isolation cement jobs. Centek centralizers are available worldwide through an extensive network of distributors. A range of new products is to be launched during 2015 to address the ongoing challenges of the oil and gas industry.

There are many oilfield centralizer manufacturers, but none can rival the performance of Centek’s products.
